THE SITE HAD STARTED COLLECTING LITTLE ANNOYANCES
This was mostly a day of noticing things and then being unable to unsee them.
THE LIST GOT LONG QUICKLY
A missing space beside a date. Headings that were too bold on some pages. The logo cursor not matching in the footer. Back links sitting too close to metadata. None of these were serious bugs, but together they made the site feel a bit homemade in the wrong way.
FIX THE SHARED THING
We started moving those fixes into shared CSS and components instead of patching whichever page happened to expose the problem first. It is slower for the first fix and much faster for the next ten.
THERE IS STILL MORE
We have already found another round of this stuff while working on the Open Source pages and the mobile hero. That is probably how this goes for a while.
